Home safety risks during the festive season

Christmas is upon us, and that can only mean one thing – time to get planning! From presents to lunches, decorations to music, there’s so much to consider. It’s easy to get caught up in the festivities and forget about one of the most important things – the safety of your loved ones.

Christmas tree lights and home appliances

People are also more likely to take an extended break at Christmas time, increasing the risk of theft at home.

Nowadays with the widespread use of social media, it is important to take extra care of what information to divulge or upload on the internet and social media pages. If you are going to be abroad during this period, it is of utmost importance not to leave any answering machine messages stating you are abroad.

Festive feasting

Life can be particularly busy during this time of the year. If you are having family and friends over for lunch, plan accordingly to avoid any unnecessary stress. You too need to enjoy the time you are spending with your family. It would also be sensible to take some precautions whilst cooking. On this day, do not leave any unattended appliances switched on as these can lead to a fire.

Children should be kept away from the kitchen whilst preparations for your festive feast are underway. Bear in mind that getting help is not a sign of inefficiency.
