Herend Porcelain is created with the coming together of Mysticism and Soul

The imprint of creative hands leaves behind the poetry of beauty, elegance, and harmony in an object. It is mystical as a lifeless substance is transformed into a work of art.

It is mystical as hands work kaolin, feldspar and quartz into a workable mass. It is mystical that this raw mass survives the intense heat of firing to be transformed into glittering white gold.

It is mystical how the Herend artists dream up the designs with which their deft hands transform the finished porcelain. By the time it is complete, each piece of Herend will have passed through nearly 800 pairs of hands, each pair passing on

the warm hand of friendship to you.

One of the brands most iconic and oldest patterns is Victoria, named after the magnificent Queen Victoria. Created in the Far Eastern style, this décor comprises nearly a hundred different kinds of butterflies and blossoming flowers painted in bright colours.

It was this captivatingly colourful motif that earned Herend it’s first prestigious award that established its international fame.

First introduced at the 1851 Great Exhibition in London, the Queen Victoria dinner service came away with the jury’s grand prize. This success was truly crowned when Queen Victoria herself ordered a complete dinner service with this décor for her palace.

The surface of the sparkling, snow-white porcelain is dappled by a colourful cavalcade of butterflies, blossoms and branches, framed by a richly embossed, golden edge evocative of green meadows.

The décor kept its popularity to the present day and as a result of Herend’s product development, it has already been designed in many renewed variants based on innovation coming from traditions, so the 19th Century Herend traditions are passed on to today’s generations to the 21st Century.

This is what gives Herend a mystical poetic element, unlike the soulless mass-produced products made by robots using digital intelligence.

Beauty to be treasured forever.
